HOW TO SEW THE HEARTS

This blog post is to explain how to proceed sewing the curves from the hearts of the Glowingheart Quilt.

Fold the half moon shape, and the curved shape in half, and finger press to mark.

Place the curved shape on top of the half moon shape RST ( Right sides together), and make sure to line up the center creases of both and pin.

With RST (right sides together), align the inner corner of the concave curve from the curved shape to the convex curve of the half moon shape.

Make sure the bottom side of both shapes is aligned.

Repeat the same for the other side of the curve. Pin the remaining parts of the curve together, and use as many pins as needed.

Have the halfmoon shape on the bottom, and the curved shape on top when sewing, and sew around the curve with a 1/4" seam allowance. Pause when necessary to re-align the fabric, always with the needle down.

Press the curved seams towards the curved shape, making sure the entire block lays flat. Your curve is done! Practice as much as needed!
