A little bit about me...
I was born and raised in The Netherlands, The Hague, before moving to Arnhem to study the four-year Bachelor course Fashion Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts.
I graduated in 1997, and shortly after that I moved to Amsterdam for my first Design Job at Pepe Jeans London in 1998.
When in 2000 the company opened a new Design office in Madrid I've moved with them to Spain.
After working at the design department from Pepe Jeans London for 11 years I've changed jobs, and started my actual Design job at a Spanish brand.
It was in 2015 when my daughter was born that I began patchworking and I fell in love with the art of quilting.
During the pandemic in 2020, I've noticed the healing and therapeutic benefits of patchwork! Creating quilts with beautiful fabrics and developing ideas for new quilts has been the best thing that could have happened to me during that time.
I've explored how quilting gives me comfort and a feeling of coziness.
What I was taken by as well, is the big community of quilters out there, and how friendly it is.
It gave me the encouragement to dive into the world of designing quilts.
I love bold shapes, bright colors and big contrasts in quilts.
My new quilt design has hearts grouped together, and to me they are a symbol of togetherness.
Togetherness and coziness are very important in the Netherlands.
These two words describe the heart of my Dutch culture.
